Before the application:
Should I apply in German or English?
We look forward to receiving your application documents in both German and English. If you are applying for a senior management position you should definitely ensure that your cover letter and CV are also in English.
Should I submit my application online, via e-mail or through the post?
Your application should only be submitted via our online portal. In order to comply with the provisions of the general data protection regulation (GDPR) we regret that we cannot accept any applications that are submitted via e-mail or through the post.
Which format should I use for the attachments?
Always save your documents in standard office formats, preferably as PDFs. Several related documents can be combined in a single file. (You can find free programmes on the internet that you can use to merge several PDFs into a single document). The following formats can be included with a maximum size of 7MB: DOC, DOCX, PDF, JPG, TNP, GIF.
Does a phone call increase my chances of success?
No, but you are welcome to call us with any questions you may have about the application process or a particular job that are not answered here. All further questions will be clarified as part of the interview process. A phone call has no influence over the application or selection process.
Can I also make a spontaneous application?
If you cannot find an appropriate position in our job vacancies, you are welcome to make a spontaneous application. Please be as detailed as possible when describing your ideal position.
Can and should I apply for more than one job?
If you find several suitable job descriptions in our job vacancies, please apply for each position separately.
How do I apply to other companies that are part of the Yaskawa Group?
Where Yaskawa owns a company in a particular country, that company will do its own recruitment. You can find the relevant jobs in the country-specific sections of our home page. Our mother company in Japan has very specific demands for applicants. Please apply here directly, preferably in Japanese.
During the application:
How do I know if my online application has been received??
Once your application has been received in the online portal you will be sent an automatically generated e-mail confirming receipt in the system.
Can I cancel or withdraw my application?
You can cancel or withdraw your application at any time. In this case your data will not be processed further and will be deleted after the appropriate time.
How are the interviews organised?
All our interviews are carried out by two interviewers. One interviewer represents the HR department; the second interviewer is from the technical department.
The first interview deals with questions about YASKAWA, reviews the career history of the applicant and explains the job vacancy itself and the departmental structure. This enables both parties to gain a mutual impression of each other.
One key aspect in the choice of applicants is their interest for other cultures and mentalities, as YASKAWA has employees from all over the world.
If a second interview is offered, the specialist qualifications of the applicant are explored in greater depth. Open-ended questions and, where applicable, initial terms and conditions of the contract may also be discussed at this time.

In which locations will I find which jobs?
In Europe, Yaskawa is divided into three divisions: Drives Motion Controls, Robotics and Environmental Energy. Our jobs are usually assigned to one of these divisions. Overarching responsibilities and jobs are assigned to Headquarters.
